国土资源部乌鲁木齐矿产资源监督检测中心又名新疆维吾尔自治区矿产实验研究所，原名地矿部新疆维吾尔自治区中心实验室、新疆维吾尔自治区地质矿产局实验测试研究中心，始建于1953年。40多年来，已发展成为新疆岩矿鉴定、选矿及矿产应用研究等多项技术服务的综合性的检测和科研机构。下设化学分室、选治实验、岩矿鉴定及仪器仪表四个专业室，现有职工126人，各类专业技术人员88人，其中高级职称31人，中级30人、初级27人，配备各类检测仪器302台，拥有数十台现代化大中型精密仪器。固定资产892万元，总的工作面积约5000平方米，1991年经国家技术监督局地矿评审组对本室的计量认证评审考核，取得合格证书，建立健全一套比较完整的质量监控与质量保证体系，除承担各类地质样品的化验、鉴定、物化测试、固液体矿产综合选冶选用试验、宝玉石鉴定及加工外，还可承担生物、农业、医学等有关的检测任务。提供的各类检测数据和技术服务在新疆地区享有较高的信誉。2001年国家技术监督局地矿评审组又对本室进行了计量认证复查换证的评审考核工作，考核通过。并对我室的技术力量、人员素质、仪器设备的管理、质量保证体系的运转情况及环境条件给予了高度的评价，得到了专家的一致好评。
　　本室40多年来，除完成大量的实验测试任务外，还承担部局科研项目30多项，其中获部、自治区科技成果奖16项，为自治区找矿和开发利用做出了贡献，出版了《新疆宝石和玉石》、《新疆火山岩图册》和《中国阿尔泰稀有元素矿床矿物志》。参加了国家化探一级标准样品的定值及透辉石、多金属矿的一级标样定值工作。1987年以来，共完成了本省的1：20万区域化探40多个图幅的样品的分析及本省及外国公司的1：5万、1：10万化探图幅样品的分析数十万个，为阿希大型金矿，喀拉通克、阿舍勒大型铜镍矿等矿山的发现提供了大量珍贵的信息，对外国公司1：20万、1：5万化探样品的分析，外国公司对我所的分析测试进行了密码检查及密码抽查，最终对我所的分析测试质量及分析测试水平给予了高度的评价及认可。
　　选冶方面完成了金矿、铜矿、金刚石、红柱石等矿种的选冶试验研究，为开发利用该矿提供了依据，特别是金、铜矿选冶方面形成了一套成熟的工艺，已取得了较好的社会经济效益。
鉴定专业室在多项矿产物质组分的研究方面为新疆矿产开发利用研究做出了很大的贡献。并且利用自身的技术优势，经自治区技术监督局审查认可，授权为新疆岩矿、宝玉石产品质量监督检验站。近年来，参与市场监督检验及委托检验，每年检测各类宝玉石产品数万件，在自治区范围内为保护消费者利益，打击假冒伪劣，净化市场做出了新的贡献。
　　Minerals Experimental Institute of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region former named as Xinjiang Central Laboratory of Ministry of Geology and Minerals, was established in 1953. After 50 years efforts, the instite has developed into a comprehensive scientific research and production organization comding multiple technical services such as Xinjiang s rock mine test, appraisal of rock mine, gemstone and jade, dressing and minerals application researck etc. Now the institute has 3professional offices and 1 company, 114 in -service employees, 74 technicians at junior, medium or senior levels, fixed asset of RMB16.91 million,total work area of about 5000 ㎡， being equipped precision test equipment.
　　 In March, 1991, this institute gained qualification of measurement authentication at the State
　　 Level for the first time; in 1996, the institute passed smoothly the recheck and certficate change of
　　 Measurement authentication at the State level; at the same year, Xinjiang Quality Supervision and
　　 Examination Station of Rock Mine, Gemstone and Jade Products passed 2-in-1 authentication of measurement authentication and check approval, and became the first quality test organization of
　　 Gemstone and jade products in Xinjiang, bearing tasks of law enforcement check and entrustment test of quality of gem and jade products in whole Xinjiang; in 1997, the institute was appraised as one of the 13 national appraisal and test units of rock mine achievements by former Ministry of Geology and Minerals; in 2001, the institute smoothly passed re-authentication of the State-level measurement authentication once again.
　　 During the past 50 years, in addition to finishing a large qiantity of experiment and test tasks,the institute also undertook 57scientific research projects at ministry and bureau lenels,submitted about 300 pieces of reports of method experiment, in which, 13 of the projects won various scientific and technological achievements prizes at levels of State ,Ministry and the Autonomous Region , completed the analysis and test task of 1:200000 geochemical exploration sheets of 53, ranking the top 5 of the whole country at the list of order of geochamical exploration test and analysis quality for 3 years (2000-2003)in succession.In 2003 ,the institute undertook analysis and test task of 1:100000 geochemical exploration project in Morocco, the report for the project was appraised as the highgrade report by Expert Supervision Group of China Geologic Survey Institute. All these pronide a great number of accurate analysis and test data of Xinjiang's geologic prospecting, development and utilization as well as geochemistry map plotting.
　　 During recent years, the institute further strengthened internal management,constantly improoved its techmology, quality management and service levels through various means, positively took part in marked competition with its technical advantages, stuck to serve whole society, The institute has enjoyed higher authority and good reputation in Xinjiang area due to contribution to rapidly development of Xinjiang's economy.
